Decree #437 of the Government of Georgia

"On the amendment to the decree #22 of the Government of Georgia "On the Establishment of the State Commission of Georgia on NATO Integration" January 31, 2005"
In accordance with the article 20 of the law of Georgia "On Normative Acts", paragraph 4, amendments shall be introduced to the Decree #22 of the Government of Georgia. As amended paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of the mentioned decree shall be as follows:
"1. State Commission of Georgia on NATO Integration will be established with the following representation:
Prime-Minister of Georgia, chairman;
State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, deputy chairman;
Minister of Finances of Georgia;
Minister of Justice of Georgia;
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia;
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia;
State Minister of Georgia on Reintegration;
Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia;
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development;
Ministry of Defence;
Chief of Joint Staff of Armed Forces of Georgia;
Minister of Corrections and Legal Aid;
Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees;
Minister of Environment Protection of Georgia;
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia;
First Deputy State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Secretary of the Commission.
2. The following officials are requested to participate in the Commission:
National Security Advisor to the President of Georgia – the Secretary of the National Security Council;
Chairman of the Defence and Security Committee of the Parliament of Georgia;
Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia;
Head of the Intelligence Service of Georgia;
Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia."
The decree will enter force upon promulgation.

"State Commission on NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan implementation" has been active in Georgia. Since 2005 following the decree #22, of the Government of Georgia, dated January 31, 2005. The Commission was entitled to lead the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) coordination process and guarantee its timely and efficient implementation.
Amendments into the decree of 2005 were introduced according to the decree #43 of the Government of Georgia, dated March 11, 2009 following the NATO-Georgia growing cooperation. According to the changes, the Commission was named as followed: "State Commission of Georgia on NATO Integration".
The State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration has been entitled with the coordination and monitoring function of the work to be implemented by the State Commission of Georgia on NATO Integration.
The structure and composition of the State Commission remained the same:
Chairman - Prime Minister of Georgia;
Deputy Chairman-Vice-Prime-Minister, State Minister of Georgia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration;
Members - heads of the governmental agencies contributing to the integration process.
The Commission identified main directions and established following thematic inter-agency working groups on: Political and Security, Economic, Defence, Resources and Legal issues.
Responsible Ministers and heads of the working groups were defined by the governmental agencies. A detailed plan of the Annual National Programme elaboration and implementation is prepared by these working groups. Along with the liabilities and its timeframes, the plan also contains periodically updated results of the work carried out by the working groups.
